I have been working on a new series of work for the past three years. I use a technique called Painting With Light in haunted homes and hotels. They are very long exposures done at night with the use of flames, candlelight, flashlights, colored gels and shadows from nearby windows. I figured it would be very cool do create fine art images of very cool haunted places, not just the typical snapshot. I use large format, 4x5 film cameras with multiple exposure of about an hour. These are done in total darkness and show an eerie effect almost like an HDR image but without the software.....just a camera. I even have a ghost on one of my slides and the nice thing about it is you know its real because its not a digital image and you can see it on the slide itself. I'm hoping to find an eclectic art gallery to put my work but so far most of the good art galleries would rather show snapshots of people than real art anymore, so here I am.
