Hand drawn, woodcut inspired card titled “Bella Deriva,” left blank on the inside for your message and is suitable for any occasion.
When I was a kid, my older sister had a woodcut art project for high school. I was only six at the time and watching her take a plain block of wood, cutting out notches with fascinating tools, rolling on the black ink, and then applying the block to paper seemed like magic to me. Later I discovered that the antique books I valued so highly were often illustrated utilizing the technique of wood engraving. This craft was made popular by the works of Thomas Berwick in the late 18th century. There is something very personal and organic about these illustrations, something that cannot be produced by ordinary machine printing. It is no wonder that I find these works romantic, because the entire painstaking process is a “labor of love.” https://www.etsy.com/listing/106909915/alternative-fantasy-black-and-white

very cool, I remember doing block prints when I was in high school. Loved it. Did my own halloween cards for years after.
Thanks, Denise. That's awesome that you made your own Halloween cards!
